Well, this book is obviously a reread. I began reading it to get out of the reading slump I got in because of ?The book of lost things?. It is definitely my favorite book so far. I don?t know why but I putted as 4 stars when I first read it, but I guess it is obvious that this book sticks to me so much that I cannot give it least than 5 stars
Although I already knew what was gonna happen it was like reading it for the first time, the excitement, the anger, the sadness, and disappointment. A lot of people criticize this book a lot, but I still love it and I disagree with what many people say. For beginners, a lot of people say that it is a totally anti-feminist book and I strongly disagree because yes Tessa is kinda dependent on Hardin because of her love for him, which I don?t think is ideal, but she is a very strong woman that has been thought a lot and she always stands up for herself. Hardin is a dick and still has a lot to work on, especially in the first book, but for the big part of the story he ends up doing what she wants. The second thing that I strongly disagree with is when people have the audacity to say that there is no character development in this book. I mean, what?? Have you actually read it?? Tessa and Hardin change completely because of the influence on one another. And I think their development is beautiful because in one end you have innocent Tessa that is totally controlled by her mother and don?t know to kinda defend herself and in the other end you have Hardin who was a huge attitude problem and a really fucked up past, but when they are together Tessa learned to be more independent, confident, sexy, and to stand up for herself, without losing herself in the process and Hardin becomes this guy that although still has a lot of shit to work on is really trying to be the best version of himself for her, and he shows this other, venerable and loving side of him.
