I'll Tell You Three Things...
1. SN is hot;
2. the characters are extremely likeable, saying all the right things at the right times;
3. the story is easy going, despite tackling themes like death, grief and addiction.
So, the book follows Jessie, who recently lost her mother and whose father eloped with a total stranger, causing her to leave her life and all things familiar to move to Los Angeles. But it's not dream Los Angeles - more like flip-coin Los Angeles - where she struggles to fit in the glam jungle of Wood Valley High School.
But she's not alone. SN (aka Somebody/Nobody), the anonymous emailer who's offered to guide Jessie through her new life has took interest in her, and although at first he's a virtual shoulder to cry on, slowly, their texts become more flirtatious and intimate.
Tell Me Three Things is a book about change, about trusting and healing. I'm not quite sure if it's triggering, as I am blessed to have both my parents alive. Whereas, Julie Buxbaum writes about grief in a light but yet urgent way, bringing some hope to readers and to Jessie.
