Magic!
If you?re like me then you?re probably also asking yourself, how do you go about reviewing such an iconic book series? Your guess is as good as mine ? I?m just going to muddle through as best I can. I know I won?t do it justice, but I can only do my best!

The thing is I love the most about these books is that it doesn?t matter how old you are when you start reading them. I grew up with these books, and I probably read Harry Potter and the Philosopher?s Stone either as a preteen or an early teenager. I read this book again for the first time since then last year. At around twice the age I was when I first read the book, I loved it just as much!

Whilst I would say the intended genre is probably young adult, at the same time it doesn?t feel pigeonholed there. There is so much to this series that there?s something in it for everybody! This very first book is comparatively lighthearted to the rest of the series. It?s a wonderful introduction to a vast and detailed magical world, providing fantasy readers with escapism and a life they would have loved to have lived as a child; to be quantified as special and sent off to a magical school of witchcraft and wizardry.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher?s Stone is only a few hundred pages long. It?s an easy book to pick up and read because of the length, but also the way in which it?s written. The narrative style is very easily digestible. Personally, I think you could easily pick up and put down the book as you wish. It?s really easy to follow what?s going on and it?s honestly a pleasure to read.

I like the pacing of Harry Potter and the Philosopher?s Stone. Being the first book in the series, there is a lot to take in. We have a lot of the setting of the scene, character and world building thrown into the mix. I find it just right so that even a younger audience could follow what is going on, but equally it?s not slow for more mature readers either. As well as all this, there?s a lot of magical excitement to keep our attention. From a plethora of spells to learn to the wonder of the everyday? such as chocolate frogs (which really do behave like frogs!); there is always something going on and keeping the action flowing in a fun way!

In my opinion, this book is the perfect introduction to the now famous series. It?s fun and exciting whilst also setting the scene for a much wider story. The story unfolds in ways that I didn?t take initially expect when I first started the books. But, I really enjoy that! If you haven?t read these yet then I honestly recommend you do. They are absolutely fantastic and they really are for absolutely anyone!

Bom demais reler HP. Achei que talvez seria meio chato por ser o primeiro livro (e, portanto, o mais "infantil"), mas não foi. Foi uma leitura bem conforto, com aquela nostalgia do comecinho da saga, tudo novo.

Ler em Inglês foi particularmente especial porque a JK escreve o sotaque dos personagens. No começo foi meio estranho, mas depois que peguei o jeito ficou muito legal.

Essa edição é linda e tem mapa e curiosidades, então amei. Recomendo muito e ja engatilhei o segundo ?

Just perfect
(I decided to write the review in English since the book is also in English) I found the book super interesting and it really held me in, it just took me a while to read because it was my first time reading a book in English and I was still getting used to it. the characters are wonderful, the story is perfect, the plot twist really took me by surprise I swore it was Snape who wanted to steal the philosopher's stone! The book was not five stars, the story was very cool, but not at the five star level. I don't know anything about the story of Harry Potter so everything is new to me, I don't have any spoilers (and I don't want to) I'm super excited to read the next one!

The author's bullshit notwithstanding...
... I find these one of the greatest fantasy books of all time. No matter how many times I reread this book, it always plunges me into a world that knowingly does not exist but is clealy believable. The world of Harry Potter is palpable, it's real as far as well-written literature can take us. One can see, imagine, touch and smell things in the wizard world, so long as they are a little willing. I'll always reread this series in between my new reads.

Primeiro livrinho
Harry Potter é um tipo de saga que é conforto, nada muito pesado mas também não é entediante. Li o livro em uma sentada, muito bom!

Releitura do livro que marcou minha infância/adolescência e me viciou nos livros pra sempre.
Ler em inglês foi um incentivo pra essa releitura depois de tantos anos.
O primeiro livro era o que eu menos lembrava e foi muito legal reencontrar os velhos amigos e revisitar os lugares mágicos agora com olhos de adulto.
O encantador é que a magia continua funcionando apesar da idade.
Achei o comecinho bem chato, focando muito nos Dursleys, mas quando a Autora começa a introduzir os nossos personagens queridinhos, a leitura fica viciante e é difícil largar, mesmo que a gente já saiba o que vai acontecer e o quanto vamos sofrer.

Li com o objetivo de estudar o inglês, o fato de já saber o que acontece no livro ajuda muito, mas preciso estudar mais!

Harry Potter dispensa resenhas, né?
Nem sei qts vezes eu já li os livros dessa série, mas a edição ilustrada de Pedra Filosofal foi a primeira vez. Que coisa linda! Definitivamente é a coleção mais bonita da minha estante.
Li a primeira vez esse livro quanto eu ainda tinha a mesma idade do Harry. E cá estou, uns 20 anos depois, relendo e achando perfeito da primeira palavra até a última. Não consigo expressar o que o universo de HP significa na minha vida. Pra sempre meu favorito ??

Adorei
Considerado que a maioria das pessoas já conhecem a história do livro, vou deixar aqui meu relato sobre a leitura na língua original.
Tentei começar a série em inglês em 2018 e logo nas primeiras frases vi que seria mais difícil do que eu imaginava, então acabei deixando o livro de lado até mês passado.
Agora, com mais tempo pra poder me demorar na leitura caso fosse necessário, percebi que ela fluiu com mais tranquilidade do que uns anos atrás.
Considerei a leitura um pouco difícil, principalmente porque não sou fluente em inglês (sou intermediário), mas gostei bastante da experiência de ler no original.
Foi quase como ler pela primeira vez, já que eu havia lido em português a pelo menos 10 anos. As falas do Hagrid foram as mais complicadas de entender, no meu ponto de vista.

Foi bom o desafio e em breve continuarei lendo os outros.

Há alguns anos, li ele em português e me apaixonei pela saga, li todos um atrás do outro. Esse ano encontrei em inglês e peguei emprestado o primeiro, que coisa maravilhosa é reler esse livro, sempre amei e sempre vou amar. É um universo literalmente mágico que te transporta junto com ele e te faz querer fazer parte também... Quando conseguir vou pegar o segundo e ler, assim por diante.

Primeiro contato com Harry Potter aos 23 anos
Cara, que delícia de leitura!

Eu fui a criança que tinha medo de Harry Potter e, quando cresci, já tinha muito para eu entrar em dia e sempre fui deixando para lá. Quando vi esse livro gratuito na estante da Amazon, não tive dúvidas: era agora ou nunca.

Realmente muito fluido. As aventuras que acontecem a toda hora, os plot twists que eu realmente não via chegando, o desenvolvimento dos personagens tão perfeitinho e gostosinho. Não tenho o que reclamar.

Ainda não sei se lerei a saga inteira, mas desde já posso dizer que ele realmente está par a par com tudo que ele tem.

Pura nostalgia
Eu li pela primeira vez depois de passar minha infância/adolescência toda apaixonada por Harry Potter e tive uma experiência muito legal! A nostalgia de voltar pro mundo bruxo é indescritível!
