It is initially distastefully slow-paced but once it gets going it's quite hard if not impossible to put down.
There are two major unsolved mysteries going on, and although one of them is laughably predictable the other feels like a stab to the heart once read through.
Don't get me wrong: it's not the kind of debut novel I'd deem remarkable, but it's an utterly satisfying holiday thriller you'll find yourself trying to piece together throughout the reading.
I just don't get why this title was picked based solely on the book's sun-scorched background. You can barely feel "the dry", afterall. I could think of a few better titling options.
