The Borrowers Afield

What exactly happened to Pod and Homily and Arrietty after the terrible day when Mrs. Driver brought the rat-catcher to smoke them out of their home under the kitchen floor? That is the question that will haunt everty reader who ha fallen under the spell of these miniature people, first introduced in The Borrowers. They escaped of course. But how the little family survived and how they fared among the dangers of field and hedge-row would never have been known but for the countryman's eyes of Old Tom, the game-keeper.
